  • Skip the basic garlic bread and try this spicy, zesty version made with flavorful cowboy butter and loads of Parmesan cheese!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 baguette, halved lengthwise
  • Wedge of Parmesan cheese, for grating

Instructions

  1. Turn the broiler on high. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, paprika, cayenne, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, lemon zest and juice, chives, thyme, parsley, and garlic until well-combined.
  3. Brush the butter mixture over both halves of the baguette. Generously grate Parmesan cheese over the bread. Transfer the baguette halves to the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Broil the bread for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  5. Slice the bread crosswise into pieces and garnish with more parsley. Serve warm.
  6. Enjoy!
