  • These Orange-Glazed Salmon Burgers are vibrant and flavorful. Juicy salmon patties are seasoned with fresh herbs and spices and then brushed with a sticky-sweet orange glaze that adds a burst of citrusy goodness. Topped with a refreshing slaw and creamy, spicy Sriracha aïoli, all sandwiched between soft and slightly sweet King’s Hawaiian burger buns, this burger is perfect for a weeknight dinner, or any time you want something fresh.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless fresh salmon, finely chopped
  • 1 small red onion, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • ⅓ cup chopped fresh dill
  • ⅓ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 King’s Hawaiian burger buns
  • Slaw of choice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the salmon, onion, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, dill, cilantro, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, fish sauce, and ground ginger until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture evenly into 4 portions. Shape into patties. Freeze for 15 minutes.
  3. Make the orange glaze: In a saucepan, combine the orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, and garlic. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. Stir in the cornstarch slurry, and simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the glaze thickens. Remove from heat, and set aside.
  5. Heat a nonstick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through, brushing with the orange glaze during the last minute of cooking.
  6. Make the Sriracha aïoli: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Sriracha, and lime juice.
  7. To assemble the burgers, lightly toast the Hawaiian buns. Spread a generous layer of the Sriracha aïoli on the top buns. Place the glazed salmon patties on the bottom buns, and add your preferred slaw. Top with the top buns. Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite sides.
  8. Enjoy!
