Ingredients
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, preferably Dutch-processed
- 4 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, between 60-90% cacao, roughly chopped
- 1 cup bourbon whiskey (optional)
Instructions
- To start, place a medium pot on the surface, attach the probe to the side of the pot, and plug the thermometer into your One Top.
- Whisk the sugar and cocoa powder together in the pot, then stir in the milk, cream, and salt.
- Allow mixture to reach goal temperature.
- Stir in the chocolate until smooth. Once smooth, add bourbon for a spiked option.
- Use a ladle to pour the hot chocolate into mugs, and garnish with desired toppings. If desired, keep warm, covered, for up to 60 minutes. Whisk the hot chocolate before each serving to keep the drink evenly mixed.
- The hot chocolate will continue to stay warm until you press “Done.” Enjoy!
