Ingredients

  • 8 lasagna noodles
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound spicy Italian sausage
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ¼ cup diced jalapeños
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon (optional)
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup diced sausage
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Break apart your lasagna noodles into thirds, then boil and cook per package instructions.
  2. In a large pot over medium-high heat, add the olive oil, onion, and garlic. Cook, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes, or until fragrant.
  3. Add the Italian sausage and ground beef. Cook, using a wooden spoon to crush into bite-sized pieces, about 4 minutes, or until browned.
  4. Add the jalapeños, then sprinkle on the salt, black pepper, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and optionally, chicken bouillon. Mix to combine.
  5. Add the tomato paste, stirring to ensure everything is combined, then add the vodka.
  6. Let the vodka cook out, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced by one third. Add the crushed tomatoes, broth, and diced sausage. Mix to combine, and let simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream, cooked noodles, and ¼ cup grated Parmesan. Top and serve with garnishes!
  8. Enjoy!
